The Pittsburgh Steelers are God's team. As a matter of fact, it was Saint Eelers (St. Eelers) who delivered the team from Heaven.

God had asked Eelers, the Patron Saint of all football and fans, to provide his Divine team with an equally Divine name.

That is how the STeelers were born (taken from the name of St. Eelers).

(God created a somewhat lesser team, "America's Team", called the Cowboys. Lucifer created the Ravens. And the Jets and Patriots were initially intended to be Cheerleaders, but due to expansion in Heaven, God went ahead and made them regular teams.)
